Test and Validation Engineer, Team Lead
Information Technology and Services | Portland, Oregon Area, US

Summary

Since my graduation from West Virginia University in 2007 with BS degrees in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, I have been working as an engineer in the quality assurance and validation field. I have a passion for new technology, especially when it functions with the end user both beautifully and effortlessly.

In early 2013 I began leading a team of eight in an on-site staffing effort for Allion at Intel Jones Farm in Hillsboro. We are working on iSCT, a wireless AOAC solution. It's a challenging but interesting mixture of integration and validation testing within an R&D environment.
.
Previously at the Allion USA Engineering Services main office in Beaverton, OR, I worked as the lead HDMI specialist. I oversaw a lab of over 100 TVs, 25 AVRs, 10 Cable Boxes, and 20 DVD/Blu-ray players we use for various consumer device compatibility services and scenarios for our customers. I also maintained multiple one off projects for customers from to wireless testing to certification/hardware qualification.

I truly enjoy my position at Allion; it's a great job with great people. Personally, I strive to live each day to the fullest, keep a positive attitude, and try learn something new whenever possible.

Yesterday while driving to Pullman WA, I stumbled into a discussion about, "If I was a Hogwarts wizard, what would my Patronus be?" (To those not in the know, it's a unique heroic animal ghost-creature that springs forth from a wand to protect from the soul-sucking dementors). After much discussion on the plausibility of a sea creature being able to in fact be a patronus, I determined mine would be a narwhal. To help illustrate, to the left is a cartoon picture of one super-cool, Hipster DJ Narwhal.

Stumptown has supposedly sold out to some wall street mogul.  Hipsters are not pleased... will now only consume coffee made at a loss with a bird on it.

The Timbers have GREAT marketing. The rival Seattle Sounders on the other hand...not so much.

There are some advertisements that should never be made and this is one of them.

At least there will be jokes. Just look at the blog title. That took me literally, 20 minutes at Starbucks. Thats the sort of half hearted work you are likely to see here.
